No doubt everyone has seen a lot of privacy policy updates as a result of GDPR going into effect today. We wanted to provide an update regarding GDPR requirements and the steps we’ve taken.
 
First, nothing material will change in the way that your information is processed. We are focusing on improving the way we communicate how we handle data, and the options that exist for what we do with that data.
 
Lawful Basis of Processing
Because our role with a client is that of a processor, we have sent an agreement addendum to our active clients and supply chain partners to address the legal reason regarding how Aires processes transferees’ data.
 
Transparency
We’ve shared our Transferee Notification for Processing of Personal Information document with our customers so that they can share, as appropriate.  
 
Security & Adequate Safeguards
GDPR requires a lot of data protection safeguards, including encryption of data, access controls and a variety of other technical and organizational controls. Aires has leveraged our existing EU-U.S. Privacy Shield and Swiss-U.S. Privacy Shield certifications as well as other existing controls and we continue to refine our security program in accordance with GDPR requirements.
 
Personal Data Inquiry & Data Portability
Transferees can request access to their personal data that we store. They can ask us to modify personal data if it’s inaccurate or incomplete. In addition, transferees have the right to request the deletion of personal data that we have. Data Portability requires that as a processor we can provide a copy of the personal data in a simple format. All such requests will be accommodated. Transferees can also modify their data via ReloNet® Web Services and can utilize a new option on ReloNet® Web Services for a “New Data Inquiry” that will help us to address these requests and direct the requests to client controllers for evaluation.
