Terrorist Attacks in Paris Close Country’s Borders

November 13, 2015 - On Friday night, 13 November 2015, Paris, France, was struck by a series of deadly terrorist attacks. French President Francois Hollande has made formal statements indicating that the country’s borders have been officially closed and has also imposed a mandatory curfew on the city of Paris.

These dire circumstances may directly impact travel plans and immigration processes for AIReS clients and their transferees. Please note that foreign nationals presently visiting, working, or residing in France will not be permitted to depart the country until further notice. Conversely, inbound travel into France has been equally halted.

At this time, the details of the attacks are yet to be confirmed, including the coordinating parties, as the story continues to unfold momentarily. It is also unknown if the terrorist attacks and the ensuing actions taken in France will have other effects on travel, immigration, and security throughout other parts of Europe.
