May 12, 2015 - The Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has confirmed that its members, including diplomatic staff, officers, and assistants have implemented an indefinite strike effective today, May 12, 2015. Participants exclude local Consulate and Embassy employees who will continue their work activities as scheduled. Currently, consular posts in Rome, Madrid, Sydney, and Hong Kong have officially enforced the strike. Due to the uncertain effects that the strike will have on the processing times of visa applications and document legalization services, it is advisable that clients and transferees with active or soon to be submitted applications contact their relevant Brazilian Consulate or Embassy for updated information.
